(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Fire Department will commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks during anopen house from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday.
The open house is planned at the department's headquarters at 1900 H St.
Chili and other refreshments will be available free. The public is encouraged to attend.
Bedford firefighters schedule the annual open house as a way of honoring the firefighters who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks.
The number killed in the attacks totaled 2,996, with 343 of those being firefighters who died.
