(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Utilities announced it will be necessary to shut off water service to some of its customers beginning at 4 p.m. today to facilitate the repair of a water main break.
Spokesman Jon Callahan says certain areas will be without water from 4:00 p.m. today until 6:00 a.m. Thursday.
Callahan says once the water service is restored, it will be necessary for these customers to boil their drinking water for 5 minutes prior to consumption. A public advisory will be issued through local media outlets announcing when the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted.
The following areas of Bloomington will have their water stopped:
East Lookout Lane
North Overlook Lane
East Woodridge Drive
North Scenic Drive
North Thistle Drive
North Hillview Drive
East Audubon Drive
East Northcliff Avenue and Lookout Lane in the Marlin Hills Neighborhood.
East Fairwood Drive
East Woodland Drive
North Rural Street
East Richland Drive
East Prairie Lane in the Fairwood Terrace Neighborhood.
North Old State Road 37 from North Dunn Street to East Prairie Lane
East Bethel Lane
North Christina Lane.
