(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington will commemorate the tragic events of 9/11 with a ceremony on today at 9 a.m. at Showers Plaza outside City Hall, on North Morton Street.
The event is a solemn recognition of the commitment and sacrifices made by public safety officers in Bloomington and around the nation.
Speakers will include Mayor Mark Kruzan, Dick Dunbar, Commander of Bloomington American Legion Post 18, and Tom Hanify, President of the Professional Firefighters Union of Indiana.
The ceremony will include the laying of a wreath remembering all of those who lost their lives on such a tragic day.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
