(DUBOIS) - The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office says a French Lick woman suffered a broken neck and other injuries when her car ran off a Dubois County road Sunday evening.
55-year-old Jill Heeke told authorities she was attempting to avoid hitting a deer when she ran off County Road 925 East, about a mile south of State Road 56.
She was checked by EMS, but refused treatment.
She was taken into custody and taken to Memorial hospital for treatment and there hospital personnel discovered she had a broken neck.
She was then taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Evansville.
Heeke was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
