(EAST OOLITIC) - The homeowner of a trailer was able to extinguish a blaze before firefighters arrived Tuesday afternoon.
The owner Tasha Davis placed a call about the blaze at her home at 173 Heartland Street in East Oolitic at 2:43 p.m.
When firefighters from Shawswick, Marshall and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Departments arrived the fire was out. The fire started on an outside wall of the mobile home.
According to Shawswick VFD Chief Bobby Brown, the homeowner had taken a small section of the mobile home off and had put out the fire.
"There was very little damage to the home," Brown says. "Firefighters checked the inside of the home to make sure the fire didn't spread and found nothing."
Brown says the cause of the fire has not been determined.
