(BIRDSEYE) - The Dubois County Sheriff’s department arrested a Jasper man Thursday evening after a Rural Birdseye woman found him sitting on her couch when she came home.
The man left when the woman told him to get out.
Sheriff's deputies found 45-year-old Donald Reiner in a field about 100 yards west of the residence.
Police say Reiner appeared to be under the influence of something.
Reiner is facing preliminary charges of burglary, residential entry and theft.
The case is still under investigation.
Authorities say Reiner is also a suspect in a string of vehicle break-ins in Birdseye which took place on September 18th.
Anyone with information on the vehicle break-ins is asked to contact the Dubois County Sheriff's Department.
