(MITCHELL) - Mitchell’s Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate its 41st anniversary Saturday with an open house at the fire barn on State Road 37.
The event will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will showcase the department's new fire engine.
There will also be free hot dogs and hamburgers, a silent auction and raffles and plenty of activities for children including a bouncy house and games.
The department hopes to raise $5,000 in donations during the event and if they reach that goal Fire Chief Jason Zeeks will shave his head.
Those who would like to donate funds or to donate an item for the silent auction can contact the department by emailing donations@mariontwpfire.com or by sending donations to the Marion Township VFD at P.O. Box 598, Mitchell, 47446.
