(SALEM) - Metal Systems LLC, located at 6080 West Kansas Church Road, east of Salem, opened for full-time production on June 1.
Jesse Graber opened the business after he noticed more and more people putting metal roofs on their home and realized there were no manufacturing facilities close by thus the idea for Metal Systems LLC was born.
Garber worked with Greg Lamb, with Mid-Southern Bank, to arrange financing for state-of-the art equipment that takes a roll of flat metal, which weighs 10,000 pounds, and feeds it through a machine that bends and presses it into ribbed and grooved sheets. It takes about three to four hours to produce enough metal for a pole barn.
Metal Systems uses nine gauge metal that comes in 15 different colors and with a 40-year warranty. The company also carries screws, single bubble insulation and accessories for sliding doors. Free delivery is offered within 30 miles.
Garber has noticed another trend, that people these days expect quick service, thus his goal to have the product out the door within 24 hours.
Three members of Garber's family help with the operation. His wife, Lois, helps in the office; his son, Kyle, operates a machine called a roll former and his daughter, Diana, operates a machine called a trim folder.
Garber's goal is to expand his business and he hopes to add more employees.
