(BEDFORD) - One person was hurt and another was issued a traffic ticket after a collision on Ind. 37 Friday morning.
According to a Bedford Police Department report, 31-year-old Christian Beck, of Salem, was driving north on Ind. 37, approaching 29th Street, just after 6 a.m. She was behind a vehicle being driven by 23-year-old Shawn Emmons, of French Lick. Emmons was stopping at the intersection for a red light.
According to police, 33-year-old Luke Thomas, of Odon, was stopped at the intersection in the southbound lane of Ind. 37, waiting to turn left. As Emmons stopped his vehicle, Beck's car was hit from behind. Beck, who told police the light turned red suddenly did not have time to get stopped so he tried to swerve to avoid the collision, but he over-corrected, causing the vehicle to flip onto its passenger side.
Police say Emmons' vehicle rolled across the intersection and hit Thomas' vehicle.
Emmons was taken by ambulance to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital to be treated for neck pain.
Beck was issued traffic tickets for driving with a suspended license and for disregarding an automatic signal.
