(MITCHELL) - Two people were arrested after they took a vehicle that belonged to a man they were staying with.
Mitchell Police officers received a call at 6:33 a.m. Wednesday requesting an officer to the 1000 block of Tulip Street.
The caller reported he was letting 24-year-old Audra Mason and 30-year-old John Nunn stay with him.
Mason told the man she had left something in his 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer and wanted the item.
The man gave Mason his keys to retrieve the item.
Then when he looked outside he realized that Mason had stolen his vehicle.
Lawrence County officers stopped the vehicle at 6:44 a.m. on Ind. 60 at Meridian Road. Nunn was driving the vehicle and Mason was a passenger.
Audra Mason, of 1266 Indian Creek Camp Rd., was charged with public intoxication and trespassing.
John Nunn, of 1310 Elm Park Apartments, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, receiving stolen property, driving while driver's license suspended.
Police say other charges are pending and the case is still under investigation.
