(JACKSON CO.) - Bridge construction will soon affect drivers on U.S. 50 in Jackson County.
The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to route motorists around a new bridge construction site west of Hayden and east of Seymour beginning this morning.
Both eastbound and westbound traffic will be shifted to a paved runaround on the north side of the highway. Drivers will be making use of a temporary bridge.
INDOT says the traffic shift will continue through the middle of November.
INDOT says Force Construction is building a 26-foot concrete drainage structure over a small branch of Storm Creek. The work is part of Force's $21.9 million contract to construct their portion of the U.S. 50/North Vernon Bypass contract.
