(WASHINGTON) - A Washington woman told police she didn’t know why her vehicle crossed the center line on County Road 150 West and hit a utility pole splitting it.
The accident happened at 8:30 p.m. Monday about 200 feet north of the intersection of Old U.S 50. When Daviess County deputies arrived Cox admitted she had been drinking and tested .14 percent on a breathalyzer.
The utility pole, which held three transformers, was split. A line crew from Washington Municipal Utilities was called and power was out in the area for about an hour while repairs were made.
Cox was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
