(JACKSON TWP) - A 27-year-old woman was killed Thursday morning in a crash on State Road 135 North while riding a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend.
The Brown County Democrat reports, Jennifer Garrison died in the 7:45 a.m. crash at near the 9300 block of State Road 135 North, said Brown County Chief Deputy Coroner Earl Piper.
She was a passenger on a motorcycle that was southbound on 135, between Fruitdale and the Morgan-Brown county line.
The motorcycle driver, whose name wasn't immediately available, appeared to have lost control of the bike and overturned it.
Piper didn't didn't have specific details about how the crash happened, but says a pickup truck going north also was involved. It hit a tree in a yard after leaving the road.
Piper says the driver of the motorcycle was up and walking when he arrived on scene.
The motorcyle driver was taken to a hospital for a toxicology screen, as is the policy for drivers in fatal crashes.
Piper says the pickup truck driver, whose name wasn't immediately available, was taken to a hospital for treament of neck and back pain.
Neither the motorcycle driver nor the passenger was wearing a helmet.
Piper says that Garrison's driver's license showed a Shelbyville address, but she was living in Greenwood with her boyfriend. She was taken to a funeral home in Edinburgh, where her parents live.
