(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested an Indianapolis after he struck a patrol car with his vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Police say 37-year-old Ignatius A. Ugbeka continued to drive his SUV until he was stopped by officers at the intersection of the East 45 Bypass and Dunn Street.
Officers say Ugbeka would not exit the vehicle, so they were forced to use a tool to break a window and remove him from the SUV.
Ugbeka tested at .27 during a breath-alcohol test, three times the legal limit.
He is now facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment, resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to carry proof of financial responsibility.
The impact left a significant amount of damage to the front of the police car.
