(MITCHELL) - The fully functional, 18-hole Cedar Valley Golf Course is going on the auction block at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The property, 1674 Motocross Road, is listed with Keach & Grove Real Estate.
It will be an absolute auction, according to Greg Taylor, principal broker of Keach & Grove, which means the land will go to the highest bidder, and there's no reserve.
Registration, however, is required.
Taylor recommends people to show up at 10 a.m., when some personal and business property will be auctioned, and no later than 10:30 a.m. in order to register by 11 a.m.
There also are bidder's packages available online, which includes a registration form. Visit wolfeandcompanyauctioneers.com and click on "Page 3."
Cedar Valley, owned by Jerry and Judy Stevens, will be auctioned by Garry Wolfe of Wolfe & Co. Auctioneers. The Stevens could not be reached for comment about the auction.
The golf course, according to previous Times-Mail stories, is an 18-hole golf course that includes a pro shop, snack bar, driving range and practice green.
Jerry Stevens carved the course out of farmland in attempt to build Mitchell's first golf course. He opened the first nine holes in 1992 and opened the second nine holes in the spring of 2000.
