(BLOOMFIELD) - The annual Greene County Clothe-a-Child Project is now accepting applications for this year’s event.
The Greene County Daily World reports, applications for low-income families to obtain clothing and toys for their children at Christmas will be available at locations across the county through October 31.
Organizer Karen Strueh said this year's project will be sponsored by the Linton Civitan Club, the Linton Rotary Club, the Bloomfield chapter of Psi Iota Xi and the Bloomfield Rotary Club.
Strueh said the event has been serving the Greene County community since 1968. She said it was originally started by the Linton Civitan Club and later merged with similar projects across the community.
Throughout fall the group gathers money and toys for the project and distributes them around Christmas.
Strueh said the project also coordinates with other similar projects to make sure no families fall through the cracks.
By serving low-income families, Strueh said the project really helps the children.
Anyone who would like to help out with the project or make a donation can contact Strueh at kstrueh@sbcglobal.net and at the phone number (812)384-3531 or Linton Civitan Club president Laura Cross at laurabcross@yahoo.com and at the phone number (812)798-1263.
Applications can be found at the Greene County Division of Family Resources at 104 County Road 70E in Bloomfield, at the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce at 159 First St. NW in Linton, at Bloomfield Town Hall at 12 E. Main St. in Bloomfield, at the Jasonville Utility Office at 304 W. Main St. in Jasonville, or at Worthington Town Hall on State Road 67.
