(LINTON) - There will be “Fantastic Fall Family Fun” at this year’s Kids Fair in Linton.
The Greene County Daily World reports, organizers are busy planning and are inviting businesses and organizations to get involved as well as individuals who might enjoy volunteering.
The Kids Health & Safety Fair, an annual event sponsored by the Greene County Alliance, is always well-attended by families from all over the county.
This year's Kids Fair is scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2-6 p.m. in the Linton Armory and the event is free to attend.
Cheri Campbell, who's helping to organize the event, says the purpose of the event is to provide interactive family-friendly activities that are also educational and informative.
Campbell said there will be free haircuts for the kids, a bounce house and slide, games and activities at every display or booth, a costume parade with prizes and free food. All attendees, parents and children, get a ticket for one free meal at the fair - hot dogs, chips, a granola bar and water.
Prizes are a main attraction for the children who attend -- and there are a lot of them, including passes for family movie nights, tickets to Holiday World, Shakamak Park, board games, season passes to school athletic events, school spirit gear, and many more.
Booths will offer free health screenings, demonstrations on car seat safety, information on substance abuse and information about services available in Greene County.
Businesses, organizations, social service and government agencies, fire departments and all of the rescue and law enforcement agencies that operate in the county are invited to participate.
Wright Township Fire Department will bring their Smoke House, an AirEvac helicopter will be on the scene along with a number of fire trucks and ambulances.
There are a lot of ways to become involved in the Kids Fair: A business or organization can register to set up a booth; or they might donate a prize or sponsor a prize package; and individuals can volunteer.
The Greene County Alliance (GCA) is a network of agencies in the county that focus on family and youth development.
