(BLOOMINGTON) - A 56-year-old Bloomington man dialed 911 early Tuesday morning to report a Goshen man entered his motel room, battered him, threatened him with a knife while sexually assaulting him.
Bloomington Police went to the Motel 6 on North Walnut Street at 3:30 a.m.
The man told police that 39-year-old Brian Manning entered his room uninvited, battered him, and hit him in the face. He then sexually assaulted the man while threatening him with a knife.
Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider says the victim suffered contusions about his eye and the man was very upset.
The man told police that Manning was staying at the same motel.
Police spoke to Manning who denied being in the victim's room or hurting him. He then changed his story and told police that the two men had been in a verbal fight earlier but it was never physical.
But police say Manning, who was wearing a cast on his hand, had what appeared to be blood on it.
Both men were taken to the police station and after questioning Manning was arrested.
He was booked into the Monroe County Jail at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday on preliminary felony charges of criminal deviate conduct, confinement, intimidation and battery. His bond was placed on a hold as the investigation continues.
