(WILLIAMS) - Lawrence County police arrested a Williams man Monday for burglary and theft after he allegedly stole a motorcycle amount other items from a garage on South Chase Riffle Road.
24-year-old Timothy Bowden was arrested on a warrant for petition to modify house arrest and two counts of burglary and two counts of theft.
According to a probably cause affidavit, On August 14 Bowden allegedly stole items from two different buildings on South Chase Riffle Road. The owner noticed the next day that his motorcycle was missing from his garage and a collection of coins. Police found the coins outside one of the garage windows.
Police also located an extension cord and a red plastic gas can in a grassy area. A short distance later police found a 4-wheeler and other items from the victim's garage.
Residents in the area told police that Bowden had been riding the vehicle and was staying in a cabin in the area.
When police went to the cabin police found more items that were taken from the garage.
Police learned that Bowden was staying at a family member's home in Mitchell. When Mitchell police arrived there they found the stolen motorcycle, but Bowden was not at the home.
Bowden was arrested after Lawrence County Detective Phil Wigley made a traffic stop on South Chase Riffle Road in which Bowden was a passenger.
Bowden told police he was intoxicated and on Klonipin and didn't remember taking the items or the motorcycle and the next thing he knew, he woke up next to a motorcycle on a property belonging to family member.
