(BEDFORD) - A Tunnelton Road man called for help after he was working under a cargo trailer and the axles dropped, pinning him underneath.
Lawrence County police received a call at 5:42 p.m. reporting a man in the 3700 block of Tunnelton Road was stuck under the cargo trailer. Bedford Fire Department, Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department and a Seals ambulance responded.
"He was not injured and really wasn't stuck," says Shawswick VFD Chief Bobby Brown. "He had the trailer jacked up for several days and had been working on it off and on."
Brown says the man did everything right.
"He had it secure and on jack stands, he had all four tires off and when he was under it the axle spring released dropping down the axle, making it a tight fit and difficult for him to get out from under it," Brown added.
Brown says firefighters jacked up one end of the trailer and the man slid out.
