(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an accident that killed a man Wednesday night.
The crash was reported at 11:47 p.m. on State Road 54 East, west of Harv-Wright Road.
According to a press release, the vehicle was traveling east on State Road 54 East and went off the south side of the road and collided with a tree.
Police says the male driver, who is not being identified at this time, suffered fatal injuries.
Deputy Harvey Holt says the man was not wearing a seat belt, and the airbags did deploy.
The accident is under investigation and more information will be released later.
Assisted at the scene were GCSD Davis Aerne, Bloomfield Police Dept Chief Deputy Jeremy Inman, Greene County Ambulance Service, Richland Fire Dept and Center Fire Department.
