(JACKSON CO.) According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze the remains found Wednesday night in a ditch along County Road 400 North in Jackson County are not human.
Police were called at 7:30 p.m. after someone reporting finding what looked like decomposed human remains.
Houze says, although there was not a complete body, the remains were initially thought to be human.
A forensic anthropologist examined the remains and determined they were not human but believed to be that of a bear.
Houze says, it is unknown at this time how the remains got there.
