(BEDFORD) - Bedford police arrested two people after they found meth and two handguns, Wednesday afternoon.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley officers were called just after 3 p.m.reporting a driver in a green Land Rover was driving with a suspended driver's license and there may be possible drugs in the vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle at 3:35 p.m. at Fifth and N streets.
25-year-old Wyatt Colin, of 607 Lincoln Ave., was driving the vehicle and issued a citation for driving while his driver's license was suspended.
"The K-9 unit was called to the scene and the dog was walked around the vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of narcotic," Parsley says.
The passengers, 21-year-old Michael Holiday of 506 North 8th St. Mitchell, was arrested after officers found a baggy of a white substance that tested positive for meth. While Holiday was being booked into the Lawrence County Jail officers also found he had a hydrocodone pill.
He is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, visiting a common nuisance, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The other passenger, 33-year-old Dena Johnson, of 561 Dillman Rd., was arrested after they found a spoon with meth residue on it and three syringes under her seat.
"They also found a .32-caliber hand gun under the seat and a .22-caliber handgun in her purse," Parsley says.
Johnson is facing charges of maintaining a common nuisance, two counts of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a handgun without a permit.
