(MITCHELL) - Two men were arrested after Lawrence County and Mitchell police find drugs in vehicle.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, police were on routine patrol on Ind. 37 Saturday morning when they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
"While the officer was talking to the driver, they noticed what could be possible drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle," Craig says. "The officer called for the Mitchell K-9 unit and the dog alerted police to possible drugs in the vehicle."
Officers arrested 30-year-old Christopher Turpin, of Mitchell, on charges of possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
They also arrested 36-year-old Brady Spires, of 1815 4th St., on a charge of visiting a common nuisance and a charge of false informing.
