(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after police he held a woman down and refused to let her go.
Police received a 911 call reporting a domestic fight. The woman told police her boyfriend was getting physical with her.
Police went to a home in the 100 block of Stevens Lane at 11:55 p.m. At that time both parties were advised and officers left.
Then at 1:30 a.m. police received another call reporting the couple was fighting.
When they arrived the door of the home was open and they heard a woman screaming for help.
Officers rushed to into the home and found 35-year-old Joshua England, on top of the woman holding her down and screaming and cursing at her.
Officers ordered England to get off the woman but he refused and continued to hold her down and yell at her.
Officers had to use a taser on England and then physically remove him off the woman.
England was arrested and continued to be combative with officers.
He was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest.
