(BEDFORD) - Bedford North Lady Star senior reserve guard Whitney Wilson has committed to play basketball at Asbury University, an NAIA Division II school in WIlmore, Kentucky.
She will receive a partial scholarship to play for the Eagles.
BNL head coach Damon Bailey believes Wilson will be a big contributor for the Eagles.
Attending Asbury is a family tradition. Her grandparents Jay Jr and Alice on the Wilson side met at Asbury, her dad Jay III attended Asbury and currently Whitney's brother Tyler is there.
The Eagles went 23-10 last year under head coach Bart Flener. Asbury plays in the KIAC with schools like Indiana University-Southeast, and finished second in the conference the past two years.
The Lady Stars host Bloomington North tonight in the IHSAA controlled scrimmage starting at 6 p.m.
