(PAOLI) - A caucus will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Paoli Town Hall Meeting Room to appoint a replacement on the Paoli Town Council.
Orange County Republican Chairman Jack Hinkle says a vacancy occurred with the resignation of Louanne Lashbrook, who left the position for health-related reasons. The seat is an at-large position.
Declarations of candidacy may be presented by individuals up to 72 hours before the caucus in order to be eligible for selection by the precinct officials. A candidate must be a registered voter and must live within the boundaries of the town.
Candidate forms are available for pickup from either the Paoli Town or Orange County Clerk's offices.
Declarations must be received at 8538 W. U.S. 150, West Baden, IN 47469, or presented directly to Hinkle before 7 p.m. today in order to be eligible to be considered. The caucus is closed to the public.
