(OOLITIC) - Three volunteer fire departments battled a house fire at 802 Walnut Street in Oolitic Saturday night.
Oolitic, Shawswick and Marshall Volunteer Fire Department along with TOPES responded to the blaze just before 8 p.m. The home is owned by Lisha Staley and was up for sale.
According to Oolitic Assistance Fire Chief Ted Maze the inside of the home was fully involved with firefighters arrived.
"No one was living in the home so no one was displaced by the fire," Maze says. "There was no furniture inside, but there is major structural damage."
Maze requested the state fire marshal responded to the scene.
"He will be here on Monday to investigate to determine the cause," Maze says. "The home still had the electric on."
Firefighters were venting the roof to extinguish the blaze.
"We had the fire contained quickly," Maze says. "But we still have some fire in the attic area."
Firefighters were still on the scene at 10 p.m.
