ISP Trooper Injured In Accident

(JUDAH) - Two people were injured Thanksgiving in an accident including an Indiana State trooper.

The accident happened in the southbound lanes of State Road 37 at 10:37 a.m.

According to an Indiana State Police accident report, ISP Trooper 40-year-old Brian Beuchamp was driving a 2011 Dodge Charger and was traveling south on State Road 37, just south of Washboard Road. 35-year-old Ryan Griffith, of Mitchell, was a passenger in the police car.

Beuchamp complained of neck pain and was taken to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital. Griffith suffered scratches to his face and complained of arm pain. He too was taken to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

According to police the officers had on his emergency lights and siren when the crash happened.

Beauchamp was traveling behind a 1992 Chevrolet S10, driven by 17-year-old Wesley David Wayne McDonald, of Bloomington.

McDonald attempted to move from the highway's passing lane to the driving lane. The third vehicle, driven by 52-year-old Janet G. Davis, of Clayton, was traveling next to the McDonald vehicle.

When McDonald moved over, the front of Davis' 2004 Dodge Ram struck the right rear of McDonald's vehicle, causing the truck to rotate and hit the right side of the police cruiser.

The impact, caused the police car to go into the median. McDonald's truck then flipped twice.

McDonald and Davis were not injured.
