(BLOOMINGTON) - A 19-year-old male IU student standing outside McNutt Quad was stabbed in the lip with a pen by unknown assailants.
The assault, which took place Oct. 17, was reported to police on November 6.
According to IU Police Lt. Craig Munroe the student did not report the incident right way because he was "too angry to talk about it."
The student told police he was outside the south side of McNutt Quad waiting for a friend when three people approached him.
A male walked toward him, bumped him in the chest, knocking him to the sidewalk. The man then pulled off the student's hat and began yelling at him. The man then allegedly pulled out a pen and stabbed the student on the left side of his upper lip.
The student told police he did not recognized the male that stabbed him, or the female and other male that was with him.
Munroe says the case is still under investigation.
