(MEDORA) - A Medora couple has been reunited with their missing dog Scrappy.
Scrappy went everywhere with his owners Jerry and Phillip Meade.
The couple, who are truck drivers, had stopped at a convenience store in Pine Bluff, Wyoming for coffee and snacks and had left Scrappy in the truck.
When they returned their beloved shih tzu was missing.
A man who was driving an extended cab F-350 truck had stolen the dog from the truck.
The Meade's contacted police.
Numerous Facebook photos and reports of the crime circled the globe in hopes of someone spotting the man, truck or dog.
Police were running out of hope, when they received a tip.
Victoria Lynn from Iowa had seen the Facebook post and contacted police.
Lynn's daughter-in-law had spotted Scrappy at a truck stop in Iowa.
Scrappy was safe, but cold, tired and hungry. The dog had followed truck driver Caren Nelson to her truck looking for shelter and she took the dog with her.
The Meades contacted Nelson buy phone and gave several verbal commands to Scrappy over the phone and as always the dog performed.
The Meads, who are in California, had a family friend leave Bedford Tuesday to pick up their beloved pet, who is now in Duluth, Minnesota.
Scrappy will be home for Thanksgiving. Thanks to some caring individuals.
