(FORT RITNER) - A Mitchell man escaped injured after he crashed a vehicle into a creek at the intersection of Fort Ritner road and Jasper McKeaigg roads Thursday night.
According to a Lawrence County police report, 35-year-old Michael Pentzer was traveling west in a 2006 Mazda Tribute and was approaching the intersection at Fort Ritner Road when he did not see the intersection and drove through a yard, and into the creek.
The vehicle went off the west side of Fort Ritner Road into the creek and hit an embankment.
Pentzer attempted to get the vehicle out of the creek but became stuck.
The officer says the vehicle damaged the yard of Michael Roberts at 3086 Fort Ritner Road and possibly a water line that was running through the creek. But the officer was not sure because it was dark and the water level was high.
Pentzer was cited for driving while his driver's license was suspended. He was not injured in the crash.
