(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man told police he had taken LSD before he removed all of his clothes and screamed at people and cars on Bloomington’s south side late Tuesday night.
22-year-old James Robert Goddard was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting arrest, criminal trespassing, public nudity and disorderly conduct. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday.
Bloomington Police Department officers were called to the 2200 block of South Rogers Street after several calls reporting a naked man was yelling at cars and knocking down mailboxes.
When officers approached Goddard he yelled "Uh Oh" and ran off. Officers chased him for about 75 yard when Goddard laid on the gound and was arrested. He then got up and attempted to run off again but did not get far.
According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, Goddard was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for an evaluation. While there Goddard told police he had ingested LSD.
After spending about two hours at the hospital Goddard told police - "I got naked and started screaming that I wanted to have sex with people's mothers."
