(BEDFORD) - Key Research will be conducting an income survey for Bedford.
Figures from the survey will be used in the city's grant application to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
If awarded the grant, it will help renovate the old J.C. Penney building into the Stone Gate Arts and Education Center. It is part of Bedford's Stellar Communities project.
The facility at 15th and J streets will be a cultural center that serves the entire community. So a city-wide income survey is needed.
Officials urge residents to cooperate with the surveyors who will be making contact by telephone or letter. All information gathered through the survey will be confidential.
An income survey was done in Bedford in 2008 as part of another grant application. But that survey is out of date and new data must be collected for the Stone Gate grant application.
