(JUDAH) - The state fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the blaze that destroyed a vacant home at 202 Bennett Road early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters from Marshall, Oolitic and Perry extinguished the blaze that had engulfed a home owned by Debby Clevenger. Marshall VFD Chief Chad Hayes says the fire started in the north end of the home.
Hayes says the fire is classified as an incendiary fire meaning it wasn't an accidental fire, but it's not necessarily arson.
Hayes says the fire marshal was interviewing individuals Wednesday and as soon he concludes those he should have a ruling on the cause of the fire.
