(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police arrested a woman Tuesday night after she was found running naked through the hallways of the Super 8 Motel.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley officers were called to the motel just after 11 p.m. on a report of a unclothed woman running down the hallways and yelling and causing a disturbance.
"When officers arrived they spoke with the woman's husband who told them the two had been in an argument," Parsley says. "They found the woman in her motel room. And when officers knocked on the door she answered and then slammed the door in their faces."
That is when the husband opened the door with his motel key.
"She was throwing things around the room and yelling and cursing," Parsley says. "Officers asked her repeatedly to calm down and she refused."
That is when officers placed 29-year-old Mary Robbins under arrest.
"She continued to fight with officers, she fell on the floor and kicking at them and attempted to bite one officer," Parsley says. "Then when officers got her in the police car she was kicking at the back window and had to be further restrained."
Once at the jail Robbins continued to fight with Lawrence County Correctional officers.
Robbins, who told police she was homeless, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest by force and two counts of battery on a correctional officer.
Sheriff Sam Craig says one of the officers suffered a bite wound and another a scratch to their face. Both officers were treated for their injuries.
