(FREDERICKSBURG) - A Hardinsburg woman was killed this morning in a crash on U.S. 150 this morning just west of North Road near Fredericksburg.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry D. Goodin the crash was reported at 7 a.m.
According to a preliminary investigation 33-year-old Jeremy Hall, of French Lick, was traveling west on U.S, 150 and was attempting to pass a vehicle and when he pulled into the eastbound lane to make that pass, he collided with a 1999 Ford passenger car head-on.
27-year-old Alisha Riggs was driving that vehicle.
Riggs was pronounced dead at the scene. Hall was transported by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.
Police say it is unknown at this time if Riggs or Hall were wearing seat belts.
A crash reconstruction team from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg is reconstructing the crash scene.
This investigation is continuing with the findings in the crash being forwarded to the Washington County Prosecutor's Office for determination of possible criminal charges.
