(JUDAH) - Four people were injured after the driver of the vehicle was traveling too fast on Judah Logan Road and lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
According to a Lawrence County Police reports officers responded to the crash at 12:09 p.m. Sunday on Judah Logan Road near Logan Bottoms Road.
According to police, 17-year-old Boston Weddle, of 575 Southridge Rd., was traveling west on Judah Logan Road in a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner and was traveling too fast going around a curve and the vehicle slid sideways. Weddle attempted to correct the spinning vehicle and over corrected causing the vehicle to slip off the side of the road. The 4-Runner then hit the concrete bridge abutment and then slid under the bridge.
Weddle, who suffered a broken femur and possible internal injuries, was flown by helicopter to Kosiars Hospital in Louisville for treatment.
The other three passengers:
15-year-old Justin Hughes, of 1316 State Road 58 East, suffered minor bleeding and shoulder pain.
17-year-old Austin Hughes, of 1316 State Road 58 East, suffered knee and lower leg pain.
15-year-old Logan McDonald, 6220 Leatherwood Rd., complained of head pain.
All three were taken to either IU Health Bedford and St. Vincent Dunn hospital by personal vehicle for treatment.
