(VINCENNES) - Momentum is building towards this year’s National Watermelon Drop in Vincennes.
Not only will the event be televised on CNN, but nationally known comedian Gallagher will perform at Lincoln High School's Ader auditorium.
Gallagher is known for smashing watermelons and other vegetables as part of his act.
Good tickets are still available for Gallagher's performance starting at $15. You can purchase tickets online at nationalwatermelondrop.tix or by calling 1-800-595-4849.
Gallagher's performance will be at 5 pm. Things will ramp up downtown later that evening with vendors selling food and beverages along with live music.
Then at the stroke of midnight, 14 Knox County Watermelons will be hoisted into the air and dropped onto the splatzone to usher in the New Year.
