(UNDATED) - The National Weather Service out of Indianapolis says that a strong cold front will track through the region early Thursday morning, causing an extended period of wintry precipitation beginning Thursday evening and into Friday night.
The National Weather Service says light rain on Thursday afternoon will mix with snow and sleet Thursday evening.
A wintry mix with snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches is possible by daybreak Friday.
The National Weather Service says that light icing is possible south of Interstate 70.
Precipitation will change to snow Friday morning, and will continue throughout the day Friday with possible accumulations of up to 4 inches.
