(BLOOMINGTON) - IU Credit Union moved to issue new debit cards with new numbers for about 4,000 of its members in the Monroe County area after finding out their card information was compromised.
The Herald Times reports that affected members shopped at common points of purchase.
Bryan Price, IU Credit Union's president and CEO would not name any specific merchants in the area where members' data was compromised.
But he did stress that data breaches at merchants aren't necessarily the result of a store's bad business practice or a rogue employee.
Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the credit union.
