(LOOGOOTEE) - A Loogootee man suffered a gunshot wound Thursday after he was carrying his weapon down his driveway and for some reason the gun went off.
Indiana Conservation officers say 28-year-old Edward Lee Seals Jr. suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot.
Officers were notified around 6 pm after Seals was taken by a family member to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for treatment.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage the use of safe firearm handling practices and recommend everyone, regardless of age, to attend an Indiana Hunter Education Course.
