(BEDFORD) - A man, who told police he was homeless, was arrested after he got into a confrontation with another man early Sunday morning.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, officers were called to St. Vincent Dunn 4:56 a.m.
A man who was battered was in the emergency room for treatment.
"He had several scratches on his neck and other minor injuries," Craig says.
Officers then went to a home in the 300 block of South Leatherwood Road where they found the man accused of causing the injuries.
They arrested 29-year-old James Dalton on a charge of battery causing injury and strangulation.
Also arrested at the scene was 21-year-old Nicholas Atkins who was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear. Craig says Atkins was not involved in the battery.
