(MITCHELL) - Several Mitchell churches are banding together Saturday to help those in need of coats, shoes and gloves. Toys will also be available.
The Mitchell Church of Christ will host its annual coat give-away in the old church building at 1004 W. Main St., for both adults and children beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until all items are gone.
Joining in that cause will be members of Woodville Baptist Church, who will provide scarves, hats and gloves.
Tulip Street Christian Church will be giving away shoes and boots at the same time.
ReGeneration, at Seventh and Main streets, will have its annual toy sale, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Mitchell Church of Christ's Family Life Center.
Toys will be on sale for about 10 cents on the dollar, compared to retail prices.
Proceeds from the sale go toward the work Capstone Ministries does in the community.
Also, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jacob Finger United Methodist Church will offer a free lunch for anyone who wants to attend. Soups and sandwiches will be available.
