(ODON) - An Odon man was arrested Friday morning on multiple charges after he injured a pregnant woman.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Philip Hensley, troopers approached two people at the Chuckle's gas station on State Road 58 in Odon. The people informed troopers that their friend had been battered at a home in the 14000 on North County Road 1250 East.
Troopers determined that 55-year-old Ronald G. Williams allegedly battered a four-month pregnant woman by hitting her in the stomach with a vacuum cleaner during a domestic dispute. Williams is also accused of firing a 20-gauge shotgun at her four times.
Troopers obtained an arrest and search warrant and just after 8 a.m. Friday, the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team went to the home. When they arrived, Williams came out of the house with a shotgun in his hands. He surrendered to police and was arrested without incident.
During their search of the home troopers found methamphetamine.
Williams was charged with battery on a pregnant woman, possession of meth, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and reckless possession of paraphernalia. He is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on a $1,000,000 bond.
