(SEYMOUR) - A Jackson County woman was arrested early Sunday after crashing her car in a wooded area along State Road 258 west of Cortland while trying to avoid striking a deer.
Janelle L. King, 30, Seymour, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, breath test refusal and violation of the Legend Drug Act, Officer Rick Meyer of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said Sunday.
King told Meyer she had swerved to avoid a deer and drove off the roadway in the 500 block of East State Road 258. The wreck was reported at 1:17 a.m.
