(MARTINSVILLE) - Three inmates from Morgan County are facing new charges after they tried to escape last weekend.
According to jail officials, Austin Byers, Tyler Cassidy and Ricky Croney were trying to dig through a wall at the Morgan County Jail.
Jail officials found a shallow hole in the wall that measured about 6 inches across.
Guards found a loose screw, altered AA batteries and a door hinge hidden in the cell.
All three men were charged with attempted escape, possession of a dangerous device and criminal mischief.
