(BEDFORD) - An argument about joining Facebook landed one Bedford woman in jail.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says a woman came to the police station at 3:05 p.m. Saturday to report she had been beaten and threatened with a knife.
Police arrested 49-year-old Charla Ray, of 434 15th St., on charges of battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery and battery resulting in bodily injury.
According to Parsley the woman alleged Ray wanted her to be on Facebook, but she refused and that is when Ray allegedly hit her in the face, head and chest and then held her down.
Ray then alleged grabbed a knife from a nearby table and held it against the woman's throat and left a small cut. Parsley says the woman also suffered cuts on her arm, back, wrist and hip.
Ray was still in jail this morning and is being held on a $20,000 surety or $2,005 cash bond.
