(SALEM) - It’s time again for the annual Bill Cope Chili Supper.
The Leader Democrate reports, Bill Cope was a teacher at East Washington who dedicated a large portion of his life to his students.
He died July 1997 after a battle with cancer. This event is a fundraising effort to continue his spirit of generosity by providing a scholarship in his name to Eastern High School graduates. The seventeenth annual chili supper is hosted by the East Washington Dollars for Scholars.
The chili supper will take place in the Eastern High School cafeteria on Saturday, prior to the boys' basketball games with Salem. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until 7 p.m. A meal of chili, drink, sandwich or hotdog and dessert is $5.
A la carte items: Sandwich- $1.25, Chili-$1.75; Desserts- $1.00; Drinks (with refill)$1.50.
