(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Saturday night after he would not cooperate with police.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of K Street at 10:17 p.m. after a woman dialed 911 reported 42-year-old Christopher Priest allegedly was in a fight with the woman and physically pushed her and her dog out of the house and locked the door.
When police arrived they knocked on the door. When Priest answered he was belligerent and cursing at officers.
Parsley says officers asked Priest to calm down, but he refused.
When officers went to arrest Priest, he fled into the home and slammed the door. Officers entered the home and found Priest, who became physical with officers.
Officers deployed their tasers and attempted to handcuff Priest who was still fighting with officers.
An ambulance was called to the scene and, after being medically cleared, Priest was taken to jail on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest by force.
